Tributes paid to Co Antrim YFC member

Emotional tributes have been paid following the passing of Gleno Valley YFC member, Tom Lyle.

Mr Lyle had experienced ill health over recent years.

Posting on Facebook this afternoon (Wednesday), a spokesperson for his club said: “Gleno Valley YFC wish to express their condolences to the Lyle family following the passing of our Club Assistant Treasurer, Tom Lyle.

“He has held many roles in the club over the years and played a big part in every members life.

“He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.”

Neighbouring Young Farmers’ Clubs took to social media to pass on condolences after news of his passing broke.

A spokesperson for Straid YFC said: “On behalf of the members of Straid YFC we are very sad to hear of the passing of Tom.

“He was a great friend and will be sorely missed. Thoughts and prayers are with Tom’s family and friends at this sad time.”

Paying tribute, a spokesperson for Holestone Young Farmers said: “Holestone YFC wish to express their sincere condolences to Gleno Valley YFC and the Lyle family following the passing of their Club Assistant Treasurer and beloved son Tom Lyle.

“Tom will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We are thinking of everyone during this hard time.”
