A security alert is continuing in the Waterside area of Derry / Londonderry is continuing this morning (Tuesday).

The incident follows the report of a suspicious object in the area yesterday evening.
The Corrody Road remains closed between its junctions with Strabane Old Road and Kittybane Road.
A police spokesperson said at 8.15am that diversions are in place and are expected to remain in place for several hours.
