Laura Lindsay reveals her two sons, Sam aged seven and Nathan aged five-years old, have been raising money for the Lisburn Foodbank this week after learning about the charity at school. Together they have raised a staggering £930, exceeding their initial £100 target by 930% at the time of publication.

Laura explains: ‘‘They are cycling 100km, they started this week after they heard about the Lisburn Foodbank at school and were inspired to help be part of the fundraising effort to support local families in crisis.

‘‘We are so proud of Sam and Nathan! They kept going, even when their legs were tired, with smiles on their faces and not too many complaints. The boys have had an amazing opportunity to see how their community can come together and support those in need.

''‘‘The Lisburn Foodbank has helped so many people, particularly in the last year. Thank you to everyone who donated - your money will help provide three day’s emergency food supplies for families and people in crisis.

''The boys have seen first hand how we as a community can work together and give up our time, energy and money to reach out to those who need our help. Thanks for your support!’’

Nathan explained: ‘‘It is so important to support the Lisburn Foodbank because they help people who are finding it hard to buy food for their families and we wanted to raise money to help.’’

Sam added: ‘‘We cycled 100km in six days. Mummy, daddy and my grandad cycled with us. It was quite difficult at times, especially going up hills! But we kept going because we wanted to raise as much money as we could.’
