Emma McAlister called in with a homemade hamper and a hand knitted fire bear mascot to members of Green Watch on Tuesday, May 12.

Commenting on the generous effort, Paul Morrow, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Assistant Group Commander, Glengormley District said: “We were really pleased to receive this wonderful gift from young Emma, the hamper and the hand knitted bear have really put a big smile on all of our faces. These are difficult times for all of us but it’s amazing to see people’s kindness and generosity really coming out.

“Throughout the pandemic we’ve been working hard to make sure we can keep protecting our community and we’re all really grateful for the support we’ve received from the wider public.

Emma delivered the hamper to Glengormley Fire Station on May 12.

“We always try to remind people that one of the best ways you can support us is by making sure you look after your own home fire safety and that of your love ones too.”
