“Pepper” rescued by the Fire Service

Ballycastle fire and rescue service got a call with a difference late on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon when they were called to a dog in difficulty after it had fallen into a deep ravine near Fairhead on the North coast. The good weather over the bank holiday weekend had made recreational dog walking popular in the area.

Firefighters from Ballycastle came to the rescue on the special service call which they attended and assessed the situtation before using a variety of rescue techniques in a successful attempt to bring the dog to saftey.

Pepper was eventually brought from the Ravine to a safe landing site where it was reunited with its owners.

They would like to thank the fire and rescue service for their fast response and their professionalism in the dog rescue which ended with a happy outcome for Pepper and its owners.
