The magazine, Wedding Journal introduced the awards last year to give readers the opportunity to vote for their favourite bridal industry experts and it proved a huge success.

This year a staggering 20,000 votes were cast as businesses used every tool at hand, including Facebook, Twitter and email, to rally support from their customers.

Nominees of the 2013 Reader Awards were celebrated at an afternoon tea event in the sumptuous surroundings of the Gibson Hotel.

Perfect Night our occasion wear shop which has been open for two years got into the final five in Ireland for best mother of the bride shop , and we were thrilled to bits about this .

“We are delighted to have won as we were up against some stiff competition from right across Ireland. It just proves that our brides love our friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and our huge range of amazing dresses from suppliers right across the world.

“I think our brides enjoy the craic with us all and the fact that we are very approachable, helpful and will bend over backwards to sort them out,” said a delighted Bernie.
