Perfect hospitality at Maze Brookfield WI
MAZE/BROOKFIELD: The April meeting of the WI took the form of a hospitality night when visitors from Magheragall, St Johns, Glenavy and Lisburn City Belles were welcomed.
President Barbara McClenahan introduced the guest speaker Anne Hailes, a well known broadcaster, who gave a very interesting talk on her working life, first of all as a secretary in Ulster Television and then working her way up to broadcasting.
She recounted many of the well known personalities she had met and many interesting stories. A lovely salad meal was then served with lots of desserts.
The competition was won by Florence Beacom, Helen Cantley 2nd and Esther Law 3rd. A most enjoyable evening closed with the singing of A Countrywoman’s Song.
