Petition in Armoy
PETITIONS urging people to sign up to ‘save’ Ballycastle town centre have now reached nearby villages such as Armoy.
It is believed the petition is aimed at stopping Ballycastle town centre being impacted upon if a Tesco supermarket comes to a site at Leyland Road on the edge of Ballycastle town centre.
There is currently a major battle going on between those who say a new Tesco store will be good for local people and those who believe it will lead to the closure of smaller businesses in Ballycastle.
Planners have still to make a decision.
