Petrol bomballegedlythrown at Land Rover

Petrol bombs were allegedly thrown at a police Land Rover leaving the main police station in Londonderry on Monday evening, according to a statement from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

A man is due to appear in Court in the city on Wednesday, November 4, in connection with the incident, which is alleged to have occurred at Strand Road police station.

A 27-year-old man is expected to appear at Londonderry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with making and throwing petrol bombs, said police on Tuesday.

The charges relate to an incident at Strand Road police station on Monday night when petrol bombs were allegedly thrown at a police Land-Rover leaving the premises.

The man, who is from Londonderry, is also charged with arson endangering life; criminal damage and disorderly behaviour.

As is normal practice, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).
