Petting parlour at Tannaghmore

ADULTS and children alike will love the latest addition to Tannaghmore Animal Farm - a Petting Parlour that allows visitors to really get to know some of the animals.

Masterminded by the staff at Tannaghmore, the Petting Parlour came about when they realised that small children weren’t able to see over the fences and get a good look at all of the wonderful animals. So to combat this problem the Petting Parlour was created!

Featuring a variety of animals including baby chicks, rabbits, guinea pigs, lambs and goats to name a few, the Petting Parlour will open for the first time on St Patrick’s day, Wednesday, March 17.

“We are really excited about the Petting Parlour and we know that it will be loved by everyone who visits the farm,” said Colin Donaghy, Animal Husbandry Ranger at Tannaghmore.

“It will really make the farm more family friendly and allow small children to see and touch some of the animals that they can’t see when they are enclosed in their pens. There will always be a ranger in the Petting Parlour to tell you all about the animals and help you to get to know them better.”

The Petting Parlour will be open on Wednesday from 10am to 4pm. It will then be open on Easter Monday, April 5, and during the Bird Fair on Saturday, August 28,, also from 10am to 4pm.

The Petting Parlour will also be part of guided tours or birthday parties held at Tannaghmore Animal Farm.

As ever, with health and safety in mind, Craigavon Borough Council encourages children and adults to wash their hands before and after handling any animals.
