THE leaning phone box of Lurgan was a short lived attraction last week.

Witnesses said a large outsized lorry hit the phone box on High Street around 8am last Thursday, June 3.

It left BT engineers baffled as to what to do because the phone box was left relatively undamaged, however, it had been uprooted from the pavement and left leaning at a 45 degree angle. It was removed later the same day.

A BT spokeswoman said it was good to talk and was keen to hear from anyone who may have information.

She said the priority was to ensure the area was safe and the box would be replaced as soon as possible with an alternative phone on Market Street.

The police have also appealed for information, they can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.
