Phoenix Project thanks BBC Children in Need

The Project, based at Ballycastle Road, was awarded funding from BBC Children in Need to run a Youth Mentoring Programme for young people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

The Project’s fundraising for Children in Need brought together young people, parents and staff.

The young people completed a sponsored walk in fancy dress costumes. An information evening was held after the walk informing parents and carers about the new Youth Mentoring Programme. The event finished with a Pudsey bun sale and party!.

A big thank you to everyone for the fundraising efforts and to the parents and carers for all their support.

Phoenix ADHD Project now has its new youth mentoring programme up and running.

The programme aims to help young people with ADHD overcome any difficulties they are facing by matching each young person on the programme with a volunteer mentor who will meet with them once a week for a minimum of two hours.

The mentoring relationship focuses on supporting the young person’s individual needs and helping them to set personal goals and achieve success.
