PICTURE GALLERY: Round Table celebrates 30 years

TABLERS, Past tablers and guests gathered on Friday night in the Brown Trout Inn to present the Community Rescue Service with a cheque for £6000 to aid their work in saving lives in our area.

The huge sum was raised by the recent Dinner dance in The Best Western Magherabouy House Hotel during which 242 people gave generously to this venerable cause.

Alan Reid, the Chairman of Ballymoney & District Round Table said: "We are delighted to support such a worthwhile and deserving organisation as the Community Rescue Service. We applaud their selfless and committed efforts and hope this donation will allow them to increase their capability to save local lives"

Sean McGarry, the District Commander of the Community Rescue Service said: " We are indebted to the generosity of Ballymoney Round Table and their guests. The 6000 donation will make it possible to provide a faster and more sustained response to river emergencies in the local area. Our volunteers depend exclusively on the support of the public for their funding and are delighted that they were selected for support"

Ballymoney & District Round Table paid tribute to local businesses who generously supported the event; Clarins (NI), Boots The Chemist (Sprucefield), Best Western Magherabouy House Hotel, The Old Bushmills Distillery Co. Ltd , McKendry Fabrications, Kelly's Fuels Coleraine, Bank of Ireland, Marine Hotel Ballycastle, Homestyle Interiors Ballycastle, Galgorm Spa, Oakfort Clinic Moneydig Garvagh, Sheans Horse Farm Armoy, McKeefrey's of Maghera, PC Electrics Ballycastle and to the individual generosity of Paul & Joanne Lyness, Edith McClelland, Gary Jackson and Alan Campbell (Olympic Rower).

The evening continued with a Burn's supper celebrating 30 years of Round Table in the Ballymoney Area. Past Tablers together with members from all over the Northwest attended to mark 30 years of community service and fellowship.
