‘Pioneering researcher’ awarded professorship

Professor Keenan, who attended Rainey School, has an international reputation for his pioneering research and teaching in behaviour analysis.

He has enjoyed a distinguished academic career at home and abroad where he has given keynote addresses in a range of topics in Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, India, USA, Italy and Poland.

Recently he received European funding for a major project aimed at teaching Applied Behaviour Analysis to parents and professionals in the area of Autism. Called Simple Steps (www.simplestepsautism.com), this online resource explains the basic principles of this science so that others can benefit from the advances made educating children with autism.

A Fellow of the British Psychology Society, Professor Keenan was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies (www.behavior.org), an international charitable, non-profit organisation based in Massachussetts, USA, that harnesses the expertise of hundreds of behavioural scientists to solve problems in the home, school, community, and the workplace.
