The explosion is this fourth of its type in the North West this week. Two attacks in Londonderry have been claimed by Republican Action Against Drugs who issued a statement concerning the first attack in the early hours of Monday morning in Culmore, saying they meant to kill the inhabitants of the attacked house.

Another device exploded outside a house in Dunmore Gardens, Creggan, on Tuesday night.
