Pitch battle to save ‘vital’ music therapy

RODDENSVALE School has launched a campaign to prevent its music therapy programme from being axed in budget cuts.

The programme, which is delivered in special schools across the Province by the NI Music Therapy Trust, faces the chop after the Department of Health announced plans to pull the plug on funding.

But Roddensvale has come out fighting in a last-ditch effort to save the service, with more than 100 parents and staff signing a petition. The lobby was taken to MLAs at Stormont last week.
