Plan on hold

THE Planning Service has deferred an application to build an off-site replacement dwelling and garage in Islandmagee.

The proposal, by B Wells, is for a site 260m east of the applicant’s address at 13a Mullaghboy Road. Planners had been minded to refuse the decision on the grounds that “the external structural walls are not substantially intact”. It was also said that the replacement dwelling is “not within the established curtilage” of the existing dwelling.

However, Councillor John Mathews requested that the application be deferred for a month to allow an office meeting to be held on the issue.
