Planners give go-ahead for asbestos disposal facility in Mallusk

The approval recommendation was passed by the council’s Planning and Consultation Committee on Monday, April 7 without debate.

It’s understood there were four letters of objection to the application.

Richard Gregory, chairman of Mallusk Community Action Group, said the decision to grant planning permission was “sadly no surprise,” but added that “if the facility is managed properly it shouldn’t be a problem.”
