Planning meeting

A PUBLIC meeting is to be held to discuss rural planning policy.

The meeting is being hosted by Sinn Fin Assembly Member for Upper Bann John O’Dowd at Banbridge Council Offices on August 3 at 7.30pm.

It will update members of the public on the PPS21 Planning Policy Legislation which sets out planning policies for development in the countryside and has been effective from June 1.

The Chair of the Assembly Environmental Services Committee Cathal Boylan will address the meeting, which is a follow-up to a series of previous constituency meetings on planning hosted by Mr O’Dowd during the consultation period prior to the finalisation of the current Planning legislation.

Mr O’Dowd said: “Rural planning matters have a direct impact on a large section of the Upper Bann Constituency and this Banbridge meeting is an opportunity for those living in the countryside between Craigavon and Banbridge stretching from the hinterlands of Donacloney to the hinterlands of Gilford to receive an update on the legislation and to review both its benefits and shortcomings to date.”

Everyone is welcome to come along to Banbridge Council Offices on August 3 at 7.30pm.
