Connla Kevin Scullion, 26, of Meetinghouse Avenue, Maghera, admitted two counts of disorderly behaviour inside the premises and at Queen Street on December 13 last year.

A PPS lawyer said around 10.30pm police arrived at the premises where the defendant was being restrained by two members of the door staff.

She explained that earlier the defendant had been ejected from the nightclub and was trying to throw traffic cones at staff members.

The prosecutor said Scullion was arrested and told police that he could not remember the evening or identify himself on CCTV, as he had been drinking heavily.

A defence barrister said Scullion had been drinking from 2pm with work colleagues on a pre-Christmas outing.

He stressed the defendant came from a good family background and had recently obtained employment.

District Judge Bernie Kelly told Scullion that he had made a high nuisance of himself and advised him to control his alcohol consumption which, she said, “should concern you”.

She said he was getting his last opportunity as the next time he appeared in court he would get an immediate custodial sentence.
