Poetry by Dunloy student

A young Dunloy woman has shown that she has a talent and huge interest in poetry writing.

14-year-old Emma Kearns, who attends Our Lady of Lourdes in Ballymoney, has submitted the following poem - entitled The Evening Sky - to the Ballymoney and Moyle Times.

A salmon pink in all its glory

Dims to a deep, ocean blue.

The wispy clouds, warped and thin

Vaporise into the world.

A blanket of silver stars laid out,

Bring tears to the eyes of the blind.

Softly twinkling, trying to outshine one another

The golden ball of fury,

Settles deep into the hills.

Contrasting with envy green, it seeps away.

The wan smile of the moon filters out

A trickle of silver light

A carousel of colour.
