Police advice on war munitions on beaches

A police chief has issued advice to beach users if they find washed up war munitions, as happened at Whitepark Bay during the week.

Inspector John Allen said, “There have been a number of incidents recently were old war munitions have been washed up on the beaches of the North Coast.

“We would advise the local community not to touch any object they may find which they consider to be munitions and to contact police immediately.

“Please see the attached photograph of an item found recently on Whitepark Bay.”
