Police advise motorists not to leave valuables

POLICE in Lurgan are asking motorists not to leave valuables in their car.

Crime Prevention Officer Ronnie Irwin said: “It is really important that people don’t leave valuables unattended in their cars or try to hide items such as handbags under seats in the hope that they won’t be found.

“Thieves are well aware of all the hiding places. Remember that all crimes such as this don’t only happen to other people, if could happen to you.

“Leaving items open on display provides an easy opportunity for criminals, so only bring items that you are prepared to carry with you.

“Officers will be paying attention to car parks, but if you notice any activity that raises your suspicions please contact the police straight away.”
