Police appeal after 12 cattle and trailer stolen in Magherafelt

A police investigation is underway into the theft of cattle and a cattle trailer from the Magherafelt area.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police are investigating the theft of approximately 12 cattle and a cattle trailer.

Const. Paul Taggart said: “We received a report that sometime between 9pm on Tuesday, March 15 and 7am the following morning [Wednesday, March 16] that livestock and an Ifor Williams trailer were taken from premises at the Ballynagarve Road, Magherafelt.

In recent months police in Mid Ulster have been working hard to combat rural crime and have been holding trailer marking events and offering advice to farmers and members of the rural community.
