Police appeal after incidents in Ballysally and Macosquin

Inspector Donna Bowden, the local neighbourhood inspector, said: “The windows of three properties were broken, specifically in Oakvale Park, Glenvara Drive and Daneshill Road. The criminal damage happened between around 1am and 1:15am. We believe that a group of people were responsible and there is no indication that the criminal damage are cases of hate crime.

“Anyone who witnessed a group of people in the area at the time, or indeed saw any suspicious activity is asked to contact Coleraine police on the non-emergency number 101. Or, you can contact Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”

Police in Coleraine are also appealing for information about damage and thefts from a caravan storage site at Macosquin.

Inspector Bowden, said on Tuesday evening, police received a report that a fence at the Blake’s Road premises had been damaged. Two caravans were reported stolen, and one was broken into.

On Wednesday evening further reports were received of three other caravans having been broken into.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw unusual activity close to the site from Monday afternoon onwards, or saw caravans being moved during unusual times.”
