Police appeal following hit and run near Ballyclog Church

A woman reported that her grey Seat Leon was “hit full force” by a white Ford Transit coming from the direction of Coagh at around 8.40am, before “he cruelly drove on”.

The incident, which the woman said “caused my car to spin in (the) middle of the road”, is understood to have happened in the vicinity of Ballyclog Church.

And the van is reported to have suffered substantial damage to the driver’s side, wheel arch and will also have a missing wheel trim.

The PSNI is asking anyone who was driving along that road between 8-9am, and who may have witnessed anything, to contact them on the 101 number.

“The van was reportedly travelling along the wrong side of the road at the time and came from the direction of Coagh,” they said.

“Police would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed a collision between a white Ford Transit van and a grey Seat Leon in the vicinity of Ballyclog Church.

“If you have any information, please contact Police on 101.”

In an earlier post on Cookstown Buy and Sell, the woman involved said: “I was involved in a hit and run car accident yesterday (Monday) morning at approximately 8.40am on the Stewartstown/Coagh road in front of Ballyclogg church.

“It was a white transit van, this driver hit me full force which caused my car to spin in middle of road and he cruelly drove on!

“If anyone knows this van, which will have substantial damage to his driver side, wheel arch and missing a wheel trim please please contact either myself or Dungannon police and MOST IMPORTANTLY LET HIM KNOW I’M STILL ALIVE!
