Police appeal for information on local burglaries

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime are appealing for information in relation to three burglaries in the Causeway Coast and Glens area this month.

Detective Inspector Soren Stewart said: “Tools were stolen from outbuildings in the Gateside Road area of Coleraine including a Honda generator, a Viking chainsaw, and an Oscar hedge-trimmer. The owner noticed the items missing on February 16th.

“A new build property on the Glenshesk Road in Ballycastle was broken into and tools taken from a container including a DeWalt rotary laser level and tripod, four drills, a nail gun and a Bosch heavy duty breaker. Meanwhile a black Isuzu Utah jeep, registration ERZ 6645, was stolen from a property on the same road. Both incidents were reported to police on February 16th.

“Anyone with information about these burglaries is asked to contact us on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively information can be passed on anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
