Police appeal for witnesses following fatal accident

POLICE are still appealing for witnesses following the weekend accident in which a local man lost his life near Hillsborough.

Robert (or Raymond as he was known) Hanna, who was 41, was driving a white Subaru Impreza which collided with another car on the Dromara Road shortly after 5.30pm on Saturday.

Three other people were treated for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Councillor Paul Stewart, who knew the man’s parents, offered his sympathies to the family.

Mr Stewart said: “This is a terrible loss to this family and I send my sincere sympathies to the family at this very difficult time,” he said.

“The family are well known in the Drumlough area and this will affect them very hard.”

Mr Hanna’s funeral service was held at Drumlough Presbyterian Church on Wednesday.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
