Police appeal for witnesses to Toome crash that put mother and children in hospital

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a crash last Tuesday on the Hillhead Road in Toome, to come forward.

The two vehicle RTC, which was reported around 4.20pm, is understood to have involved a blue coloured Volkswagen and a dark coloured Chevrolet.

All five people travelling in the two cars were hurt, with a mother and her two children having to be admitted to hospital for further treatment. One of the youngsters is thought to have suffered internal injuries.

Two firecrews were tasked to the scene to help remove casualties from their vehicles.

Police are investigating a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A6 Hillhead Road, Toome, on Tuesday February 16 at around 4.20pm,2 a PSNI spokesperson said.

“It is understood it involved a blue coloured VW and a dark coloured Chevrolet.

“Police would like to speak with any witnesses who may have been on the A6 Hillhead Road around this time. If you can help please call the 101 number.”
