Police appeal over Ballycastle assault

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an assault in the Castle Street area of Ballycastle yesterday evening, Saturday 17 October.

At around 6.45pm it was reported that an altercation took place on a garage forecourt in the Castle Street area of the town. A man, aged in his 50’s, was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected fracture to his leg and a fracture to his eye socket.

A short time later it was reported that a man and woman had been assaulted in licensed premises on Castle Street. They sustained minor injuries as a result.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the Castle Street area of Ballycastle yesterday evening and who witnessed these incidents to contact detectives in Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
