POLICE APPEAL: Portstewart assault

Police are appealing for information about a suspected serious assault in the Promenade area of Portstewart at around 1am last Friday, August 9.

A man reported that as he was driving in the area, another man forced him to stop his car before attacking him.

The man suffered facial injuries during the incident, including a fractured eye socket.

His injuries, however, are not thought to be life threatening.

Police would like to speak to the man thought to be involved, described as between 18-24 years old, 5’10” to 6” tall, with dark hair, tattoos to his arms and wearing a dark blue shirt and jeans.

The suspect is thought to have spoken to two young females in a new style white Ford Fiesta before the incident, and police would like these females to make contact with them.
