Police are encouraging better relations

Neighbourhood Officers have been encouraging better relations between young people in the Carnany and Castle areas by involving them in a joint project.

The news was revealed during a recent District Policing Partnership meeting held at Riada House.

The report explained: ‘Neighbourhood Officers have been encouraging better relations between young people in the Carnany and Castle areas by involving them in a joint project. Approximately 20 youths participated in educational workshops and followed by an evening of Ice Skating on 30 January 2011. It is believed this will help the youths integrate better and hopefully in the future lead to more cohesion between these areas. In addition to increased awareness, new friendships and community links were established.
