Police attacked by crowd in Carrickfergus

Police officers came under attack in the North Road area of Carrick yesterday evening.

Detailing the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “NPT officers were carrying patrols in the area of North Road and Castlemara Drive at 5pm this evening (Friday, February 15).

“A group of approximately 50 young people started throwing various items at the vehicle. Rubble has struck the passenger door resulting in some damage. Thankfully the officers were not injured, but it could of been very different.

“Check where your children are and they are not involved.”
