Police conduct search for missing man in Donaghcloney

The search was prompted after police and friends of 68-year-old Maurice Rubens became increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Helicopters and search teams scoured the local area, including rivers and wooded areas, on Sunday night in search of the man, who is a familiar face about the village.

As night fell police and friends continued their search by torchlight.

Mr Rubens, from the Donaghcloney area, was last seen at approximately 6pm on Sunday evening in a take-away restaurant in the Main Street.

He is described as being of a short and stocky build, with a black and white beard and is believed to have been wearing a blue beanie hat with a red and white Arsenal logo, a black coat and a slim blue rucksack.

Mr Rubens, or anyone who knows of his whereabouts, is asked to contact Lurgan Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
