Police dealt with 247 incidents at weekend

Local police dealt with nine missing persons reports, nine road traffic collisions and 42 anti-social behaviour calls overr the weekend.

They said they had dealt with a total of 247 calls from 5pm Friday to 9am on Monday morning in the Craigavon and Banbridge area.

They also included: four domestic incidents; 26 Concerns for safety; 16 assaults; four public order incidents; two burglaries and nine thefts

They also seized one uninsured vehicle.

There were 15 arrests.

They included: two for Aggravated TADA (stealing a car then crashing it), no insurance, no license,driving whilst unfit; five assault, including two with offensive weapon (one shovel, one knife) one also a threat to kill; three Disorderly behaviour; two for Criminal damage, assault on police, resisting police and breach of court bail; one for Harassment; two Breach of bail (one also other offences included above); one Witness intimidation; one Criminal damage/theft.

Ironically they concluded their rundown by stating: “You may think that’s a busy weekend. It’s not. It’s what we do day in, day out to keep people safe. Now to see what this week holds!”
