Police happy with achievements as burglary falls significantly

Police in Banbridge are happy with what they have achieved over the last year, with burglary and antisocial behaviour both down.

Between April 2013 and February 2014, burglary has decreased by more than 14 per cent compared to the same period last year.

The police said, “We have worked tirelessly to share our crime prevention messages and provide you with advice on how to keep your home and property safe.

“We have dedicated officers working in your neighbourhood and we have used information you have provided to target our patrols more effectively.

“We have seen a decrease in antisocial behaviour which you listed as a priority in our local policing plan. Because you have trusted us to respond to your concerns and have contacted us to share your experiences, we have seen incidents drop by 4.5 per cent.

“We have spent time with young people in schools and youth groups and educated them about the consequences of becoming involved in ASB. We aim to give them the knowledge to make the right choices.”
