Police hunt firestarters in Legahory

POLICE are hunting arsonists after two fires in the Legahory area.

Wooden pallets, rubbish and a large quantity of electrical cable were set on fire late last Friday and in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The fire service attended the scene and put the fires out.

Debris from the fire created a hazard to the local community and was subsequently removed from the area for disposal with the assistance of Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Police believe the fires were started deliberately, they have appealed to those lighting the fires to cease the activity and have asked the community to be vigilant and report those lighting the fires.
