Police hunt for stolen boat

THIEVES have stolen a boat and trailer from Ballynahinch Road in Lisburn.

The boat, which was being restored by the owner, is described as a 1970 White Super Simms V15 with blue decals along the side, a custom yellow anti-slip deck, multi-coloured steering wheel and was covered by a red waterproof cover.

It was stolen sometime between June 21 and 23.

It has a large 1986 dark grey 90 horse-power Mariner outboard on the back and an additional custom 70 litre fuel tank attached to the rear near the outboard. The dash board has been customised with an added NavMan 5600 tracker chart plotter and an Eagle Cuda 300 fish finding sonar.

The trailer is a snipe breaking back trailer which has a new jockey wheel fitted.

Police say that a similar boat was spotted recently in both Oxford Island Marina and Bangor Marina.
