Police hunt for suspicious caller in Moneymore

Police are investigating a report of a suspicious caller in Moneymore.

Const. Peter Hamilton said, “We received a report from a concerned resident on January 12th, about a caller to their home shortly before Christmas. Someone purporting to be from NIE called at an address in Bridger Street in Moneymore.

Police are looking to identify the suspicious caller and are keen for anyone with information to call Magherafelt police station quoting reference number 96712116.

“Police also would like to remind members of the public not to open the door if they are suspicious of the caller, always check the credentials of all unknown callers, always keep front and back doors securely locked and report any suspicious callers or activity to the police immediately. The number to call is 101.”
