Police investigate armed robbery in Carnmoney

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the Carnmoney area this morning (Friday).

Detective Constable Johnston said: “It was reported to police that at approximately 9.30am a male entered the dispensary area of the premises and confronted staff. The suspect, who was armed with a knife and believed to be wearing fluorescent clothing, demanded drugs before making off in the direction of Doagh Road. Staff were left distressed as a result of the incident.

“We are appealing for any information or witnesses to this incident to contact detectives at Antrim Police Station on 101, quoting police reference 294 of 09/09/16. Information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
