Police investigate attempted sexual assault in Randalstown

Police are appealing for information following the report of an attempted sexual assault on a female in the Craigstown Road area of Randalstown on Tuesday, November 1.

Detailing the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “At approximately 8:30pm as the woman was walking her dog along the road she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male and assaulted. It is believed that her dog may have bitten her assailant who then fled the scene.

“Inspector Bradley would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact police at Antrim on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1516 01/11/16. “Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
