Police investigate Ballyclare burglaries

Police are appealing for information following burglaries at a housing development in the Springhill Meadows area of Ballyclare.

The Times understands the thefts took place on Wednesday, November 16, but details have only been made public by the police.

Two houses were broken into sometime between 3am and 7am. A diesel generator, a cylinder tank and a gas boiler were stolen from one house, while a solid fuel stove and kitchen appliances were taken from the other. Constable James Jordan said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident, or anyone who may have been offered these items in suspicious circumstances, to contact Newtownabbey Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 176 of 16/11/16. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
