Police investigate break-in at mobile phone shop in town

A mobile phone shop at Castle Lane, Lurgan has been broken into and a large amount of stock stolen.

A police spokesman has appealed for information on the theft and said it would ‘have a devastating effect on a local business’.

The break-in happened sometime overnight on Tuesday (September 1) and Wednesday morning.

The spokesman said: ”A local trader had a nasty surprise yesterday morning when he opened his mobile phone shop in Castle Lane, Lurgan. The shop was broken into overnight.

“A large amount of mobile phones, accessories and stock have been stolen from the premises. This will have a devastating effect on a local business - at a time when many town centres need support.

“We are investigating this burglary and are very keen to find out where these phones have gone/will go to. If you hear or see anything suspicious relating to phones - please think about this burglary and tell us.”
