Police investigate Carnmoney armed robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a commercial premises in the vicinity of Carnmoney Road and Ballyduff Road.

Detective Constable Ross Olphert said: “It was reported that at approximately 9:50pm on Sunday, August 28, two males entered the premises, one armed with a firearm. They demanded money and cigarettes from the store, before making off with a sum of cash and quantity of cigarettes in the direction of Ballyduff Road. Members of staff were left shaken after the incident.

“We are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or have information about the incident or similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact detectives at Antrim on 101, quoting reference number 1425 of 28/08/16. If someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
