Police investigate two Larne burglaries

Detectives in Larne are investigating two burglaries in Larne's Hawthorne Grove and Newington Avenue areas last week.

The first burglary occured at a house in the Hawthorne Grove area sometime between 11am and 1pm on Thursday February 25.

Cash and some prescription medication were stolen.

Detective Constable Rachel Gardiner said: “Two males were seen in the area between 12pm and 12.30pm and we would be keen to speak to anyone who saw them or indeed anyone who has information about this burglary.”

Police are also investigating a burglary in the Newington Avenue area of the town, when the owner discovered the culprit in his house in the afternoon of Friday February 26.

The male made off empty-handed.

Anyone who saw a male in the area between noon and 1pm is asked to contact Detective Constable Michael Sweeney on the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively information can be passed on anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
