Police investigating ‘aggravated burglary’ in Carrick

Detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary in Carrickfergus over the weekend.

Three males wearing balaclavas forced their way into a house in Westmount Avenue at around 11.20pm on Friday night (July 17).

The males fled when confronted by the resident.

Windows at the front of the house were smashed as the males left and the back window of a car parked outside was also broken.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Carmichael said: “We are keen to hear from anyone with information about this crime. We would especially like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Westmount Avenue on Friday night and who might have seen these males in the area. The number to call is 101.”
