It was reported that as the girl was walking along the road a small bluey/green coloured car passed her and stopped. The male moved from the driver’s seat to the passenger seat and opened the door. He said to the child to get in.

Wisely, the child did not get into the car.

The driver is described as being in his 70’s with grey hair which was combed to the side. He was wearing a red and white checked shirt, blue jeans and was wearing blue framed glasses.

Constable Adrian Goudy said: “I would ask that anyone who saw a small bluey/green coloured car in area at the time to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.

“It is also important that the driver of this car comes forward to provide their account of what happened. I would ask that anyone with any information make contact with police.”
