Responding to reports of youths throwing eggs at passing vehicles near Lisburn city centre on Tuesday evening (Oct 18), local PSNI officers took to Facebook to warn that such behaviour is “#NotAYolk”.

“Not only is it a waste of eggs, it’s also anti-social behaviour and could result in Police dealing with you for criminal damage if the eggs cause damage to vehicles or property,” the post warned.

“Worse still, what if the egg lands on the windscreen of a moving vehicle and obstructs the driver’s view of the road? Then you might have an accident on your conscience,” it added.

The post concluded by asking people to share the message in order to “help us to #eggducate some young people.”
