Police launch fresh appeal after fatal scrambler crash

Police have renewed their appeal for information following a fatal collision involving two off-road motorcycles in Lisburn last weekend.

A 27-year-old Lisburn man, Ryan Phillips, died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision on Sunday, February 19. An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

PSNI Inspector O’Connor said: “At approximately 6.10pm, police received a report of a collision involving two off-road motorcycles which happened on the Lagan towpath, between Halftown Road and the park and ride facility at Sprucefield.

“I am continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with information to contact police at Lisburn on 101 quoting reference number 957 19/02/17.”
