Police launch School Watch

POLICE in Coleraine are asking principals and caretakers to make regular checks of school buildings over the summer to deter unauthorised persons from gaining access.

Break-ins or criminal damage to schools can have a significant financial impact on school funds and can cause unnecessary hassle for teachers and pupils.

Police are also asking people living close to schools to help keep an eye on the schools and to report any suspicious activity or unathorised persons immediately on 0845 600 8000.

Over the coming days police will be distributing information leaflets to locals residents and businesses encouraging them to report any suspicious activity or anti-social behaviour on school grounds.
